QHA ("Quality Healthcare Advice") first opened its doors for business in 2010. 

Earlier that year the overseeing organisation which used to administer the activities of the former Trent Accreditation Scheme (TAS) made a decision to withdraw from all hospital accreditation-related activities - and when this happened, it was a bitter blow for the many surveyors who had been very happy to donate their own precious free time and duty leave to undertake surveys on behalf of TAS. 

Surveying of hospitals and clinics was universally considered to be highly worthwhile continuing professional development (CPD) by all those healthcare professionals from diverse professional backgrounds who had been involved.

It was therefore obvious that there was a considerable pool of talent, expertise, experience and enthusiasm in existence waiting to be drawn upon.  

Furthermore, it was believed that partnership with UK-sourced healthcare assessment and accreditation remained a highly attractive option to hospitals and clinics around the world.

Accordingly, a group of former surveyors took the decision to collaborate and to form a new organisation to continue with accreditation, consultancy and other related work.  As a result of this, "QHA Trent" was formed, this entity being based on two British companies, QHA Ltd and Trent Healthcare Ltd.*

The QHA Group is headquartered in what has come to be known colloquially as the "Trent Region" of the UK and at its heart is owned and run by a group of senior doctors and healthcare executives possessing between them a formidable collective track record in both the public and private healthcare sectors - not just in the field of healthcare assessment and accreditation but well beyond.
